SpaceX is public. It already trades below its post-IPO high at roughly 200 times forward earnings.

That is the live test of how much speculative growth paper this market will absorb. The megacap board on Oct 9 gave an early answer.

Verdict

Capital is rotating toward names with proven cash generation and away from the high-multiple end of the AI and space complex. If AMD keeps closing in the lower third, the fade runs to $600 — above NVDA $233.89 we drop it.

The Board

  • AMD $612.92 — Gapped up 0.98%, closed down 1.25% in the lower third. Third red close. Down 3.5% over five sessions. Highest-signal print on the board.
  • MSFT $533.24 — Up 2.03% to a 90-day high, closed at 90% of the range. We called this below $509 and were wrong. The duration selling we expected never showed. Buyers paid up into the close.
  • V $382.88 — Closed at the session high. Sixth straight green close, 0.7% below the 52-week high at $385.57.
  • AMZN $260.08 — Up 2.37%, sixth consecutive green close, upper third of the range. Steady accumulation pattern.
  • NVDA $230.33 — Opened $3.37 above the prior close. Shut at 7% of the range. Third red close. Our $233.89 reclaim level stays live.
  • TSLA $384.52 — Biggest mover at +2.54% and a fresh 90-day high. Closed mid-range, so the follow-through is unproven.
  • AAPL $334.70 — Gapped down 2.56% on supply-chain chatter, then closed at 99% of the range. Heaviest volume on the board at 1.3M. That is a repair candle.
  • META $720.53 — Fourth straight red close after gapping up 0.78%. Gave the whole gap back.
  • GOOGL $351.19 — Green on the day but closed in the lower third. Weakest internal of any up name. Our $335 downside call expired — the gap-up bid held when it shouldn't have.
  • JPM $332.77 — Closed at the session high, 2.0% above the 90-day low. First sign the financials fade is done.
Six of ten megacaps closed green. The four red ones include both pure-play chip names and Meta — the three most levered to AI capex sentiment.

The catalyst stack supports the rotation. CNBC reports family offices are chasing tech on AI FOMO, which is late-cycle positioning behavior.

Meanwhile the Kospi has dropped 22% from its peak as the AI trade there loses buyers. Korea is the cleanest proxy for AI hardware demand anywhere.

What We're Changing

No change to the AMD short side. Three red closes with a failed gap-up is enough confirmation.

We are standing down on the MSFT and GOOGL downside calls. Both failed. The yield-driven multiple compression we modeled did not arrive, and we respect the print.

What flips the whole view: an NVDA close above $233.89. That reclaims the failed gap and puts the semi bid back in control.

Open Checklist

  • AMD $600.00 — below it, the distribution confirms. Levels the desk is watching.
  • V $385.57 — a close above takes out the 52-week high.
  • NVDA $233.89 — above, the fade is dead.
