Booking Holdings fell 7% to $179.76 on Tuesday. The company posted $7.35 billion in revenue and $2.54 EPS last quarter. The stock got sold anyway.

Weaker travel sentiment was the stated driver. Renewed chatter about Federal Reserve rate hikes was the accelerant. That combination hit anything levered to discretionary spend.

The Call

Consumer-facing exposure stays offered here — the travel read-through is already leaking into payments. AI silicon is the exception, and AMD at $509.02.02 is the proof.

Eight of ten names on our board closed red. Only AMD and Tesla held green.

Priority Board

V — $369.48, -1.49%. Worst megacap on the board. Second consecutive red close, down 2.6% over five sessions. Gapped down 0.93% and closed in the lower third. Cross-border travel volume is the tell — a Booking miss on sentiment is a Visa problem. Invalidation: a close back above $373.49 kills the read.

AMD — $509.02.02, +6.59%. Gapped up 2.2% and closed at 98% of the range. That's a clean print. Second straight green close, up 8.3% over five sessions. Now 3.0% below the 90-day high of $525.00. Invalidation: $486.75, the session low.

NVDA — $227.09, -1.42%. Gapped up 1.22%, tagged $233.69, then closed at 5% of the range. Anyone who bought the open was caught offside. AMD outperformed it by eight percentage points in a single session. Invalidation for the fade: a reclaim of $233.69.

AMD has traded from a 6.59% gain to a 98% close location while NVDA gapped up and finished within 32 cents of its low. Same sector, opposite flow.

TSLA — $365.40, +3.20%. Closed at 92% of the range on the heaviest volume we tracked. Up 22.4% over 30 sessions, still 2.9% below the 90-day high of $376.34. Our sub-$351.38 call is offside and running out of clock.

MSFT — $493.69, -1.20%. Second red close, gapped down 1.27%. Recovered to finish in the upper third — the sellers ran out of size intraday. The $500 handle is now resistance.

Exposure Check

  • Working: The AMD-above-$480 call filled at $509.02.02. We stay with silicon while $486.75 holds.
  • Working: MSFT below $493.83 filled at $493.69. Level respected.
  • Wrong: We called AMD below $452.35 and it never traded there. What changed — the semis bid arrived with volume and never gave back the gap. We were reading a divergence that resolved the other way.
  • Wrong: JPM above $366.50 expired. The stock closed $356.12 on a second red day, and the rate-relief repricing from last week is gone.
  • Changing: Payments exposure moves to the risk column. V has to hold $368.73 or the next reference is the 90-day low at $355.74.
  • Watching: META closed $616.36, essentially flat, but faded from $623.04 to the lower third. Fifth-session gain of 7.7% is intact. $613.60 is the line.

What Changes The Read

A Visa reclaim above $373.49 with the tape green would tell us the travel weakness was idiosyncratic. A second heavy red day in payments confirms it isn't.

If NVDA reclaims $233.69 and AMD holds, the semis leg broadens. That would put the consumer story back in the box.
