Tyler Technologies is trading near record territory on expanding recurring revenue and wider operating margins in public-sector software. The bid on Friday went to the same profile — predictable cash flows — and mega-cap software did not get it.

That is the split worth pricing. Recurring, contracted revenue is being paid up. Platform software carrying heavy AI capex is not.

Verdict

We press the payments and banking side of the board while it holds. JPM above $355 confirms it — below $347.50, the rotation call is dead.

Ten names, five green, five red. The split ran by revenue quality, not by index membership.

The Board

  • JPM $353.21 — closed at the top of its 52-week range at $353.37 and in the top 3% of the day's range. Strongest print on the board.
  • V $355.74 — up 1.18%, closed at 98% of its range, 2.6% below the $365.14 52-week high. Contracted transaction economics, bought all session.
  • MSFT $381.70 — gapped up 1.43% to $387.05, tagged $389.03, closed at $381.70. Flat on the day after giving the whole gap back. That is a failed open.
  • AAPL $333.02 — up 3.53% on 47.4M shares, biggest mover, closed 0.6% below the $334.99 52-week high. Our $334.99 breakout call is still live.
  • AMD $521.95 — down 3.29% after opening $546.92 and printing $549.00. Closed in the lower third of the range. Recovery needs $549.00 back.
  • NVDA $206.84 — down 0.92% on 114.7M shares despite Jensen Huang confirming Vera Rubin chips are in production. Good news, no bid.
  • META $595.19 — closed at 5% of its range, the weakest close on the board. Capex-heavy and 25.3% below its 52-week high.
  • GOOGL $319.74 — up 0.65% but only mid-range, still working off the post-Q2 selloff. Bulls need $324.18 reclaimed.
  • TSLA $313.03 — down 2.08%, sitting 5.1% above the $297.82 52-week low.
  • AMZN $232.11 — down 0.66%, lower third of the range. No signal here.
Both NYSE names on the board closed in the top 3% of their session ranges. Every NASDAQ name that gapped higher — AMD, MSFT, TSLA — closed below its open.

What We're Changing

We add JPM and V to the front of the watch list. Both closed on the highs with buyers holding into the bell.

The AMD sub-$518.00 call stays open into next week. The $518.00 low is the invalidation for the long side.

What kills this view: MSFT reclaiming $389.03 on volume. That would say platform software is being paid for capex again, and the recurring-revenue premium is not a rotation at all.

Open Checklist

  • JPM $355 — above, breakout confirmed within five sessions.
  • JPM $347.50 — below, rotation call fails.
  • MSFT $389.03 — above, thesis reverses.
