META opened $648.39 and closed $656.75. That is a 5.69% gap that never filled.

Megacap leadership just narrowed to two tickers. Everything else in the complex got distributed into the close.

The Call

Dispersion is the position — META and AMD are the only two names with buyers, and we stay with them while $638.71 and $506.52 hold.

What Actually Happened

Six of ten names on our board closed red. Four closed green.

META ran $43.27 and finished at 94% of its range. Volume printed 643,540. That is a clean print at a 90-day high.

META outperformed GOOGL by 9.75 percentage points in a single session.

The catalyst backdrop was the read that earnings season is turning defensive — but not everywhere. Yesterday's action agreed. The bid went to two names and abandoned the rest.

AAPL was the cleanest sell. BofA Securities cut its target to $370 on gross margin pressure from lower iPhone pricing. Apple closed $312.49, at 6% of the day's range. Third straight red close. Down 3.9% over five sessions.

NVDA closed $224.44 — that fills our sub-$225 call from Tuesday's board. Two consecutive red closes now. The Oracle options positioning into earnings tells you the AI trade is being traded, not owned.

Own the misses. We faded AMD at $452.35 and got run over — three green closes and +13.3% over five sessions since. We also called JPM through $366.50 and it never got there; the stock sits 3.4% below that 52-week high.

Risk Sheet

  • META $656.75 — $638.71 is the session low and the gap-defense level. A close below it and the breakout is a failed one.
  • AMD $520.70 — 0.8% below the $525.00 90-day high. Above it, the semis leg extends. Below $506.52, the three-day run is done.
  • GOOGL $329.24 — gapped down 1.96% and never traded above the open. $319.74 is the 90-day low underneath.
  • AAPL $312.49 — $312.13 was the low. Below $310.00 the margin story gets priced harder.
  • NVDA $224.44 — $226.16 is the reclaim level. Without it, the fade stays live.
  • AMZN $251.53 — third red close, finished in the lower fifth of the range. $250.92 is the line.

The Outlier

TSLA closed green at $368.40. Up four cents. That is the number that lies.

Tesla tagged $375.22 intraday and gave back $6.82. It closed at 7% of its range — the worst close location on the board. Green tape, red structure.

It still holds a 19.3% gain over 30 sessions and sits 2.1% under the $376.34 90-day high. So the trend is intact. But that reversal candle matters more than the headline change.

What Kills This

A gap fill in META back through $638.71 ends the leadership call outright. Same if AMD loses $506.52 on heavy tape. If both go, the dispersion trade becomes a broad de-risk and every long on this board is offside.

Tomorrow

  • META $638.71
  • AMD $525.00
  • AAPL $310.00
