Jio Platforms filed its red herring prospectus Wednesday. The fresh issue is ₹30,213 crore, the book opens October 21, and the grey market premium sits near ₹220 against an upper band of ₹1,119 — roughly 20% through the price.
That bid arrived in the same week US semiconductors broke. Thursday's session was a repricing inside the AI complex, not a withdrawal from equities. Breadth split five green, five red.
The Call
Chips stay offered while NVDA trades under $218.40, but the rotation is funding software and payments rather than leaving the asset class.

Risk Sheet
- NVDA $217.31 — Seventh consecutive red close, down 7.9% over five sessions. Our sub-$223.09 call filled here. The $212.86 session low is the next level the desk is watching.
- AMD $549.47 — Gapped down 5.47% to $539.62, traded $530.08, closed in the upper third. Down 13.7% in five sessions. A reclaim of $570.82 ends the fade.
- MSFT $538.73 — Closed in the upper third, 2.7% below its 52-week high. Above $541.42, the $547.30 prior peak comes back into play.
- AAPL $343.81 — Gapped up 1.16%, tagged $347.72, then gave it all back and shut in the bottom tenth of the range. Our pending above-$350 call is now on the back foot.
- TSLA $362.81 — Fourth consecutive red close. The $355.28 low is the level that matters.
- JPM $333.97 — Opened at the high of $337.25 and leaked all session. Closed in the lower part of its middle third. No follow-through from the bank bid.
AMD finished within $1.44 of its session high after a 5.47% gap lower. NVDA closed within $0.10 of its high. Sellers were not in control at the bell.
Both leaders repaired most of their opening damage. That is why we grade this a repricing rather than a liquidation.
Treasury yields slid as money moved into bonds during the tech selloff. Defensive rotation is the consensus read, and it is largely in the price.
The less obvious beneficiary is the IPO calendar. A 20% grey market premium on the largest Indian issue tells you new paper is clearing at a premium. Primary demand of that size does not coexist with a genuine risk-off tape.
The Outlier
Visa. Up 1.89% to $398.82, a tenth consecutive green close, and a new 52-week high at $399.33 printed on the session high.
V has added 6.4% over five sessions while AMD lost 13.7%. That spread is the whole rotation in two names.
Caveat: ten green closes and a finish 0.1% below the 52-week high is extended. Payments is becoming the crowded place to hide. Below $395.38, the streak is over and the rotation thesis needs a new host.
What flips us bullish on silicon: a close back above $570.82 on AMD, or an NVDA close above $218.40 that holds for two sessions. We called NVDA above $233.89 earlier this month and were wrong — the memory-supply story kept sellers in control, and we respected the break instead of defending the view.
Tomorrow
- NVDA $212.86.
- AMD $530.08.
- V $395.38.
