Apple closed at $327.50 — up 4.01% — after printing a new 52-week high at $328.72. Megacap momentum is back on, and the buyers showed up with size. One name broke ranks. AMD reversed $49.24 from high to low and closed down 3.46%.

Verdict

We stay with megacap strength while Thursday's gaps hold. The level the desk is watching: AAPL $328.72 — a close above it confirms the breakout, while a close below $317.32 kills it.

The Names

AAPL — $327.50 (+4.01%). Gapped up $2.77 at the open and never gave it back. The $328.72 high is a fresh 52-week print. Volume ran 60.8M shares — that's conviction, not drift. Above $328.72, the breakout extends. Below $317.32, Thursday's move was a trap.

AMD — $529.14 (−3.46%). The ugliest chart on the board. It gapped up to $556.02, tagged $558.81, then bled to $509.57. Anyone who chased the open got caught offside. The close recovered $19.57 off the low — some repair, not enough. Bulls need $509.57 to hold. A reclaim of $548.13 restores the setup.

The AAPL–AMD spread finished at 7.47 percentage points — the widest performance gap on the board.

NVDA — $212.50 (+0.33%). Heaviest volume in the group at 119M shares. It dipped to $206.04 and got bought back $6.46 into the close. A flat close on that kind of turnover means a fight. Above $213.81, the buyers won it. Below $206.04, the momentum case weakens.

GOOGL — $370.92 (+3.17%). The only green name that opened below Wednesday's close. Sellers had their shot at $358.15. Buyers answered with a 3.57% rally off the open. $373.65 is the next trigger.

MSFT — $395.63 (+2.78%). Erased Wednesday's slide and added more. The $398.96 high sits just under $400 — the psychological ceiling. A close through $398.96 puts the round number in play.

JPM — $346.91 (+1.17%). Tagged a new 52-week high at $351.24, then faded $4.33 into the bell. The Raymond James upgrade to Buy on Seeking Alpha kept financials warm. The fade off a fresh high needs a second look. $351.24 is the line.

TSLA — $394.46 (−0.43%). Gapped up to $399.39, ran to $406.59, gave it all back. That's a failed move. Below $390.66, sellers press.

AMZN (+3.02%) and META (+3.07%) rode the same megacap flow — nothing to overthink. V slipped 0.25% to $355.14, red for a second straight session.

Breadth ran seven of ten green. Warren Buffett warned that speculation is crowding out value, per Economic Times. Thursday's chase-everything action fits his complaint — noted, filed, and overruled by price. Structure over story. If the momentum thesis is right, the expression lives in AAPL above $328.72 — that's where breakout traders are positioned.

The Risk Sheet

  • AMD reversal infects semis → NVDA closes below $206.04 → the sector momentum case is off, tech exposure gets lighter.
  • AAPL gap fails → close below $317.32 → the breakout was a trap, longs go flat fast.
  • JPM fade extends → close below $344.05 → financials leadership stalls, the rotation call goes on hold.
  • TSLA breaks down → close below $390.66 → consumer momentum names get trimmed.

Tomorrow's Checklist

  • AAPL clears $328.72
  • AMD defends $509.57
  • NVDA reclaims $213.81
